Vertica raw mill, also known as vertical roller mill, in the 1920’s, the first vertical raw mill in cement plant is designed in German. It is widely used in cement, electric power, metallurgy, chemical industry and other industries.

Notes for raw mill in cement plant
The raw mill is a kind of necessary cement equipment in the cement plant. In the real working condition, but the large configuration will produce a bad effect on the cement plant, so it is very important to set a reasonable configuration of the raw mill. There are five reasons why we control the configuration of the raw mill in cement plant:
- Increase power consumption: frequently start-stop of the raw mill causes power consumption to increase. At the same time, in the initial stage of starting up, the system material does not reach the normal operating load. There is also a gradual increase process, which also increases power consumption.
Composition fluctuation of the raw meal: The frequently start-stop of a raw mill will bring different degrees of influence on the quality, whether it is the cement ball mill, the vertical cement mill or the cement roller press system.
- Instability of kiln dust mixing: kiln ash is part of raw meals not collected by the cyclone preheater. The raw meal has been preheated by the preheater and partly decomposed. At present, there is a special silo for mixing kiln ash. Relatively speaking, the amount of kiln ash is relatively large when the raw mill is stopped, which has a great impact on calcination.
- Waste of waste gas heat: The stop of the raw mill will have a great impact on the heat consumption of the whole system. If the capacity of the raw mill is small, reduce the downtime of the raw mill roller, basically can run in sync with the kiln, which is very beneficial to energy-saving, the waste heat of waste gas at the end of the kiln will be fully utilized.
- Instability of SO2 concentration: In the actual production, the raw material system really plays a role in reducing sulfur, the SO2 concentration in the exhaust gas can be reduced to about 100mg/Nm3. The start-stop of the raw mill has a great influence on the concentration of SO2in the waste gas of kiln tail.
