lime manufacturing process
Lime or quick lime, is obtained by calcinating natural calcium carbonate rocks at the proper temperature. The main types of raw materials include limestone, chalk, dolomitic limestone, etc. The lime manufacturing process can be divided into several steps:

Raw material preparation:
Limestone and other raw materials are crushed into particles around 50mm by jaw crusher and screened, then conveyed to storage yards and transported in batches to the next section for use.
Limestone calcination:
Limestone is subjected to high-temperature calcination using rotary kilns or vertical kilns, decomposing into quicklime (chemical formula: calcium oxide, CaO).
Quick lime grinding:
For the production of powdered quicklime as needed, a vertical mill or a Raymond mill is customized. These are typically used to produce industrial lime powder, ranging from 200 mesh to 325 mesh.
Quick lime separation:
After grinding into powder using the vertical mill or Raymond mill, the quicklime is subjected to powder selection through a powder separator. By adjusting the air speed, air volume, and air pressure, powdered quicklime with a fineness of 200 mesh or 325 mesh is obtained. The powder is transported through pipelines into a powder collector, completing the entire process of powder production.

Quicklime, also known as calcium oxide, is produced by calcining minerals with a high calcium content such as limestone, chalk, and dolomite at temperatures ranging from 900 to 1100°C. It serves as an inexpensive alkaline oxide and is commonly used as a desiccant in chemical absorption processes to remove water vapor. Additionally, it finds applications in industries such as steel and iron, agriculture (pesticides), pharmaceuticals, drying agents, leather production, and alcohol dehydration.
