Ordinary carbon steel balls

Ordinary carbon steel balls are one of the most widely used steel ball materials in ball mills. It is made of high-quality carbon structural steel material as raw material and processed by forging and surface hardening treatment. This kind of steel ball has low prices and low production cost and is widely used in the grinding operations of building materials, the chemical industry, metallurgy, and other industries.

Alloy steel ball

Alloy steel balls are made by adding alloying elements on the basis of ordinary carbon steel balls. Because of its high hardness and wear resistance, it is suitable for abrasive treatment projects with higher requirements. At the same time, the alloy steel ball has a longer service life, so it is widely used in some fields that require frequent replacement of abrasive tools, such as mining, mineral processing, and other heavy industries.

Stainless steel ball

The stainless steel ball in the ball mill is mainly made of 18-8 stainless steel or other stainless steel materials. Tips for grinding balls

Because of the characteristics of steel balls, the material used in the production of steel balls should be wear-resistant, and the amount of ball loading should be in line with a certain proportion of the material.

Ball loading quantity

Under normal circumstances, it is not necessary to load the ball, after all, the steel ball wears out every day after the ball mill runs, and the big ball will become a ball. Need to consider the ratio of large, small and medium balls,

When it is turned on for the first time, 80% of the ball amount given by the manufacturer is generally loaded, and the remaining 20% is loaded after two or three days of equipment running-in.

Grading scheme

When steel balls are loaded for the first time, the proportion of large and small balls can be matched using the following two schemes.

1) Multi-level ball matching
This grading scheme is commonly used, generally using 4 or 5 different specifications of steel balls.
First measure the ball diameter and material particle size, after the ratio to ensure that the maximum ball diameter = the maximum particle size of the material, the average ball diameter = the average particle size of the material.

According to the ratio principle of “small two ends, large middle” of the grinding body and the distribution of the material particle size, the composition proportion of the steel ball is determined. After determining the ratio of steel balls and calculating the matching balls, the average diameter of all steel balls should be little different from the average particle size of the material, otherwise the balls should be re-matched.

2) Secondary match
The diameter of the large ball depends on the particle size of the material into the mill, and the diameter of the small ball depends on the pore size between the large balls. In principle, it is necessary to ensure that the amount of the small ball does not affect the filling rate of the large ball.
